Puppies In-Guide Work Training

The puppies go back to Guide Dogs for the Blind, Inc. at about 14 - 18 months of age for their formal guidework training. They spend 4 - 6 months in advanced training. There are 10 phases in their training. For an explanation of the phases click here. The puppies will learn to safely lead visually impaired partners. They are then paired with their new partners and train together for up to a month learning to work together.
